For us, as individuals, spending more than our income will eventually cause us to go bankrupt. But, does this hold true for the United States government? Some policymakers choose to ignore the problem of spending more than we take in simply because they will not be around to deal with the economic consequences. Besides, spending is more fun if one does not have to worry about repayment.

Como individuos, gastar más que nuestros ingresos acabará por llevarnos a la quiebra. Pero ¿es esto igualmente cierto para el gobierno de los Estados Unidos? Algunos políticos prefieren ignorar el problema de gastar más de lo que ingresamos porque no estarán presentes para afrontar las futuras consecuencias económicas. Además, gastar es divertido si no hay que preocuparse por el reintegro.

Castro-Chavism has taken advantage of the weakness of Presidentialism to seize power and, through apparent legal reforms, to enacted “electoral dictatorships” that violate human rights, and finish the rule of law and separation and independence of powers.
