The Asian population is diverse representing over 20 nations in Asia, with China, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Korea and Japan. From the purely economic perspective Asians are great savers and education achievers. Education is yet another area where the Asian fingerprint is bound to be beneficial. Asians thus have their brains trained in data processing which is the basis of growth in the information era. This gives Asians a competitive edge that other mortals lack. And Asian Americans are depositories of this wealth creating ability. All these dimensions of the Asian American population are at the root of most economic predictions on the greater perspectives the US has to strengthen its economy through exchanges with Asian and to come out primus inter pares in a faceoff with China.

Todos los tiranos, gustan acumular víctimas. Son dados a llenar las cárceles y asesinar a las personas que disientan de sus propuestas, o que les disputan el poder. El gobierno castrista ha transformado a Cuba en un alto centro de estudios del crimen político y la represión policial, en consecuencia es culpable de las violaciones de sus discípulos. Es tiempo más que suficiente que una concertación de países ayude al pueblo venezolano a romper las cadenas que le oprimen.

Estrategia dictatorial: resistir, desestabilizar, politizar y negociar

Resistir en el control del poder absoluto a toda costa. Desestabilizar a las democracias mediante el impulso e incentivo de conflictos internos, actos criminales, subversión, atentados terroristas, movilizaciones con apariencia de reivindicaciones sociales o políticas y mas. Politizar al máximo -en el ámbito internacional- la defensa e imagen de los dictadores. La «negociación» a propuesta de manipulados mediadores nacionales o internacionales es el medio de distensión y engaño para aparentar la terminación del régimen cuando en verdad lo fortalecen. Para terminar con la usurpación hay que evitar volver a caer en su plan y tomar la iniciativa.

To resist -at any cost- in the absolute control of power. To destabilize democracies through the promotion and fostering of internal conflict, the commission of crime, subversion, terrorist attempts, mass protests with the appearance of social or political protest, and more. To politicize to the maximum -in the international arena- the defense and image of dictators. To “negotiate” by availing themselves of national or international mediators who are manipulated, this is their means of bringing about the easing of tensions and deceive to appear to be ending the regime, when in reality they strengthen it. To end with the usurpation of power, we must avoid falling again into their plan and take the initiative.

Decia Bob Hope que en la vida todo había que comenzarlo por el principio, “menos Playboy que se comienza por el medio”. ¿Qué hay de cierto sobre la hipersexualidad de Fidel Castro? Creo que no es verdad. El jefe de los escoltas del Comandante lo presentó como un tipo normalillo, incluso tímido. No creo que la sociedad cubana fuera especialmente sensual. Lo he escrito otras veces: Cuba, antes de la revolución, era una sociedad formada en la pacata tradición hispano-católica en la que copular –como dicen los vascos- “era más un milagro que un pecado”.

El narcotráfico en América Latina, ¿quien le pone coto o llegó la hora de debatir sobre la despenalización de las drogas?

El narcotráfico ha permeado y corrompido las estructuras de las sociedades en América Latina, hasta llegar, a conformar un narcoestado. La impunidad, la corrupción y la debilidad de las instituciones hacen más fácil el asentamiento de estos carteles que socavan el Estado de derecho y la labor de lucha contra las drogas. Ante todo ello nos preguntamos si no habrá llegado el momento en que nuestros países, gobiernos y sociedad, inicien un debate serio y profundo sobre un tema controversial, ?se debe o no despenalizar las drogas como forma de acabar con el narcotráfico y su redes de corrupción y muertes.? Una cosa sí es cierta, no es posible seguir dando paso libre a los carteles del narcotráfico y su estela de muertos y criminalidad. Los países productores, pero en particular los mayores consumidores, deben ponerse a la cabeza de la búsqueda de soluciones para acabar con este azote que mina nuestros pueblos, en particular aquellos más pobres y desprotegidos.

¿Por qué los expertos casi siempre se equivocan?

Los psicólogos dicen que una razón por la que parecemos desear predicciones de expertos es porque tenemos “necesidad de pasar la página”, o sea, queremos respuesta a una pregunta. Aun si es errónea, preferimos una respuesta errónea a mantener un estado de confusión y ambigüedad. Pero, de nuevo, si los expertos casi siempre se equivocan, ¿por qué deberíamos escucharlos?. Nuestro mundo es complejo y desordenado. Pronosticar requiere trabajo en equipo y reunir evidencia de diferentes fuentes. Pronosticar envuelve incalculables contingencias y variables, no simplemente una gran idea. Las personas y sus entornos están llenos de sorpresas.

Why Experts Almost Always Get It Wrong?

Psychologists tell us that one reason we desire expert predictions is because we have a “need for closure.” That is, we want an answer to a question. Even if that answer is wrong, we find a wrong answer preferable to enduring a state of confusion and ambiguity. But, then again, if experts are almost always wrong, why should we listen to these psychological experts? Our world is complex and messy. Forecasting requires intellectual teamwork, and the gathering of evidence from different sources. Forecasting involves incalculable contingencies and variables, not just one big idea. People and environments are full of surprises.

THE DEBACLE OF THE OAS’ 49TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY DUE TO ALMAGRO’S DOUBLE STANDARD.

The Secretary Almagro built and sustains an implicit reality that is very different to the objective reality the people, the public opinion, the press, the leaders and any honest observer perceive. It is most evident the General Secretary’s efforts to present Castroist Chavist dictatorships as separate and independent processes, unrelated between each other. It is shameful that for a very same matter in which the subjects, the objectives, the criminal methodologies, the acts of reciprocal cooperation, the cover ups and the common crimes, are all identical the Secretary Almagro to present and impose his distorted reality of separating, giving a different treatment to, and thus applying the strategy of the Castroist Chavist system. The OAS’ 49th General Assembly has failed on the most important matters of democracy and human rights, repeating statements regarding Venezuela and Nicaragua, while ignoring Cuba’s dictatorship, and not dealing with Bolivia’s case.
